GO TO THIS
BENEFIT

Help your local bands make it to Austin’s famous SXSW music festival by going to Bottletree on Friday, March 12, for the “B’ham Goes To SXSW” benefit show.

The show will feature Wild Sweet Orange, the Photonicas, the Broken Letters, and Secret Dangers.

The show starts at 8 p.m. sharp, and the cover is only $8. That’s more than a bargain, considering how awesome the music is.

And don’t forget your driver’s license – this is an 18+ show, so no one gets in without ID.

CHECK OUT THIS SHOW

It’s like a dream come true – two amazing bands hit Workplay for a show on March 19.

Spoon will be headlining, with Deerhunter as the supporting act. This may very well be the show of the year, by many indie kids’ standards.

The show starts at 9 p.m., and it’s 18+, so don’t forget your ID.

Tickets for the show are $25 in advance, and $27 the day of the show. But this show will probably sell out, so get your ticket quick.

(An insider tip: make the trip to Workplay to buy your ticket, and you’ll save the six-dollar convenience fee they charge for ordering online.)

CHECK OUT THIS exhibit

McWane Science Center and the Birmingham Audubon Society are partnering on a new exhibit called NatureScope.

The exhibit allows visitors to explore the great outdoors from the inside of the science center.

It includes a new Audubon cabin, as well as a demonstration stage where you can see nature programs and live animal shows.

The exhibit opens at 10 a.m. on March 13 and goes until 5 p.m. on March 14.

Visit www.mcwane.org for ticket prices and more information on the exhibit.
