Letter to editor: Loss for UAB community
Posted on Oct 31, 2012 in News
The UAB family, as well as the academic community, recently lost a valuable member with the passing of Dr. Grady Nunn at the age of ninety-four. For those of us who attended UAB during the 1970’s, Dr. Nunn was a well-liked and respected professor of political science who was also Chairman of the Department of Political Science. We all looked up to Dr. Nunn as a man who inspired students to get involved in politics during a time when so many college students were disillusioned with government in the aftermath of Watergate and Vietnam. His classes were always the most popular on campus and his students eagerly sought his views on the issues of the day. After over thirty years, I can still recall many of the things he taught us. Those of us who remember him, and a younger UAB, mourn his passing.
