UAB Professor Erin Wright, M.F.A., has organized a poster exhibition invitational on immigration, “Posters without Borders.”

Wright, who teaches graphic design in the UAB Department of Art and Art History, conceived the idea of “Posters without Borders” with Antonio Castro and Eric Boelts while at the 12th International Poster Biennial of Mexico, a poster design conference where Castro and Boelts were presenters. Castro is an associate professor of graphic design at the University of Texas at El Paso, and Boelts runs Brain Bolts LLC, a design firm in Boulder, Colo.”

“Posters without Borders” opened Sept. 6 at Space One Eleven, 2409 Second Ave. North. Graphic designers from around the world will display their work in the exhibition, Wright said.

“It is an invitational, and the list includes some of the best known social-poster designers and is truly international,” Wright said. “We have designers originally from Bulgaria, Bolivia, Finland, Denmark, Mexico, Israel, Turkey, Colombia, Cuba, Bosnia, Canada, Zimbabwe, China and Jamaica, as well as the United States, participating.”
