UAB Coordinated Campus Response Team, UAB Student Life, UAB Student Housing and Residence Life, and UAB Women’s Center and Rape Response were responsible for hosting this year’s Take Back the Night event in the Blazer Hall Residence Life Center on Wednesday, April 16 at 6 pm. Take Back The Night is an event that takes place worldwide to empower women, men, and children, and it addresses issues related to sexual violence. The event included the welcoming by Debbie Morgette, a short presentation by Allison Dearing, a survivor speak-out and a march honoring the survivors of sexual violence. During the march, chants such as, “Survivors Unite/Take Back the Night” and “We have the Right to Say No!,” were heard throughout Campus Green.   Photos by Amber Gomez Slideshow (for those with Javascript)
